Welcome

My name is Anita and I am a Therapist-in-Advanced Training working with adults aged 18 years and over.

I believe the very heart of psychotherapy is a caring, deeply human meeting between two people. My approach is collaborative, inclusive, compassionate and curious. I offer a warm and caring presence and a safe, confidential space where together we can explore all that you may wish to bring at your own pace.

I practice a model of Relational and Integrative Psychotherapy which incorporates attachment theory, self psychology, human development and Gestalt therapy. As a trainee, I currently offer a discounted rate of £35 per hour.

My calm and private therapy room is located in Heaton, conveniently located on the outskirts of Newcastle city centre.

Who comes for therapy?

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons: life events and changes; bereavement, loss and grief; anxiety; self worth; depression; abuse; trauma; or just to better understand ourselves and our relationships with others.

You may not fully know or understand why you are struggling and it can sometimes feel difficult or scary to seek help. It takes courage to make that first step.

A little more about me

IMG_4236_edited.jpg

I am in my third year of my UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) accredited postgraduate diploma in Relational Integrative Psychotherapy. As a registered member, it means that I abide by their Code of Ethics and Professional Practice which includes strict requirements for confidentiality and clinical supervision. I also have an enhanced DBS check and full insurance.

My passion for psychotherapy stems from the healing and growth I've experienced from my own personal psychotherapy. I feel a great privilege in being able to walk alongside and support those who are bravely committing to this journey too.

I was born in the UK to parents of Hong Kong Chinese heritage. Because of this background, I have a particular interest around the broader themes of culture, identity, difference and belonging.

Before entering this profession, I worked in the heritage, arts and charity sectors with a focus on community engagement and inclusion. I continue to love connecting to people and listening to their stories with curiosity, compassion and empathy.
